In December last year, Afridi announced that he would retire from ODIs after the 2015 World Cup, but said he would quit international cricket altogether only after the 2016 World T20.
He said that he doesn’t only want to play, but that he wants to captain the Pakistan team to the T20 World Cup title.
Afridi, 35, has appeared in 78 T20Is, besides 27 Tests and 398 One Day Internationals.
Shahid Afridi is regarded to be one of the greatest cricketers of all time.
He is known for his aggressive batting style, and previously held the record for the fastest ODI century in 37 deliveries.
He also holds the distinction of having hit the most number of sixes in the history of ODI cricket, and he hit the longest ever six in the history of cricket.
Afridi considers himself a better bowler than batsman, and has taken 48 Test wickets and over 350 in ODIs.
