India beat Sri Lanka by five wickets in Asia Cup

India defeated Sri Lanka by 5 wickets to qualify for the final of the Asia Cup T20 tournament at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka yesterday.

Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 56 off 47 balls as tournament favourites India reached 142 for 5 in 19.2 overs after restricting Sri Lanka to 138 for 9 in 20 overs.

Medium pacer Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah claimed 2 wickets each for India giving away 26 and 27 runs respectively.

The only way Sri Lanka will ever be able to even think of coming in to the finals will be if Pakistan beats Bangladesh in today’s match, and Sri Lanka beats Pakistan in their next.
