There is a rumour that Vandersay has become a team member due to influence of selector Brendon Kuruppu.
This has given rise to a common saying among the players that ‘Vanda will be there until Brenda remains.’
Due to Vandersay’s inclusion, hard-hitting batsman and right hand leg spinner Seekkuge Prasanna has been left out.
In his four T-20 outings representing the country, Vandersay has taken only one wicket for 115 runs in 12 overs.
He also failed to show promise at the inter-provincial tournament too.
On the other hand, Prasanna has been a success in the inter-provincial tournament as an opening batsman and was a member of the team that toured India recently.
